Meet Judy Tuck

Judy's interest in Basset Hounds had a rather dubious start. Her husband Douglas bought her a pet bitch named Snoopy. He was a little dismayed when she thought this young pup was less than good looking! But like many people, once you've been owned by a Basset, they can become the only breed for you.
The innocent gift on Douglas' part grew to become a passion for Judy. Judy now has over forty years of experience in the breed.
Beginning in the early 1970's, while living in Limestone Maine, Judy's interest in breeding and showing dogs grew as well. She began showing in Canada in 1973 and 1974, first with Snoopy's daughter, then her grand-daughter.
With Douglas' retirement from the Air Force in 1976, Judy & Doug moved to Bowdoinham, Maine, where Judy still resides today. Her Cloverhill Kennel was built there, and just recently, in 2012 she built a brand new kennel with many features designed by Judy herself, for the comfort of her Basset Hounds.
While raising her family which includes three sons and a daughter, Judy also worked full time for the Brunswick Parks and Rec. Department in Brunswick, Maine for 29 years. She was the Financial Admin. Assistant.
Judy continued working with her dogs and has become a successful and respected breeder.
Judy retired from her position with Brunswick Parks and Rec. in 2007. When Douglas, her husband of many years, became seriously ill, Judy took care of him until his passing in 2011.
In 2012 and 2013, she built a new kennel at her home, replacing the one which had served her well for many years. She is dedicated to her Basset Hounds, and spends much of her time caring for them.
Judy is an active and lifetime member of the Pilgrim Basset Hound Club. She has served as a Board Member for many years. She attends many of the Basset Hound Club of America events and has been a member since 1974.
